I can remember thinking some covers were cringe-inducingly awful even when I was a kid, so I'm not surprised to see these outdated examples. That was one of the greater pleasures in my young life, browsing the young adult and sci fi/fantasy section and seeing what covers caught my eye.
These are great. I also remember thinking how out of style looking Babysitter's Club books were when they came out. I guess all of us book readers were thought of as not being very fashion forward and still were all supposed to have had big bangs and tucked in sweaters. I never read any of them, I think because i wanted to beat up all the girls on the book covers.
